About rob

Rob Blackledge Coaching, This is Rob Blackledge and he is an executive coach who works with NOVUS GLOBAL.

From the age of 6, all I ever wanted to do was play professional baseball.

When I was 18, we won the Mississippi High School 5A Baseball Championship. I struck out the side with the bases loaded and got to enjoy the feeling of being at the bottom of a dog pile (hard to breath). I had several options to play college ball, but for reasons beyond me, my love of the game had disappeared. So, I did what any "normal" high school graduate would do:

I packed my bags and boarded a plane to China where I spent the next 6 weeks traveling.

My need and love of adventure was ignited and has burned bright ever since.

After my summer in China, I enrolled at Belmont University from 2002-2005 where I explored life as a musician. I played in 3 showcases and 3 "Best of the Best" showcases... each one in a different category (pop, rock, and singer/songwriter).

After college I signed a management deal with Netwerk Management (Guster/Dido/Matt Wertz/Barenaked Ladies) and began touring the country.

In 2008 I wrote my first hit song called "Runaway". It was recorded by Love and Theft and peaked at #10 on the Billboard Country Charts after 43 weeks.

This launched me into the world of country music where I started a band called Blackjack Billy. We spent the next 5 years touring the world and playing rock and roll country music! We rode the success of our hit song "Booze Cruise" to a record deal with Bigger Picture (Craig Campbell), 2 tours of Australia, 2 tours across Canada, and appearances at every major country music festival in North America from 2013 and 2014)

Yes... it was a hell of a ride.

In 2015, after the birth of my first child, I came off the road and began pursuing the next phase of my life.

I got a masters degree in Professional counseling and open my own practice in 2019. In 2022 I started working alongside my wife at African Leadership managing marking, branding, and strategy.

Then, at the beginning of 2025, I found my superpower.

Working as an executive coach I am able to help my clients WIN CHAMPIONSHIPS. I tap into my experience in sports and music and therapy to help clients creatively discovery who they are made to be so they can do what they are made to do.

About Coaching

Executive coaching has infinite iterations.

My iteration is this:

I serve my clients as a fierce advocate for them and their vision.

The VISION IS THE BOSS.

  1. Create the Vision

  2. Identify the GAP between your current reality and your VISION

  3. Explore the mindset around what’s currently keeping you from accomplishing your vision

  4. Implement a strategy, make commitments, and dial up your integrity as you take bold steps towards becoming the person you need to become in order to accomplish the META vision you have for your life.

Do you have questions about executive coaching of Rob Blackledge?
  • Great question… and I’m going to give you the best answer I can. It depends. When I first started out, I charged $1000 a month for my services. There are coaches in my network that charge $10,000 a month.

I encourage potential clients to view the cost of coaching as an indicator to their level of commitment to their future. The number doesn’t matter as much as the value you’re creating and how committed you are to the work. If you can pay $500 a month, and that represents a meaningful commitment to you, then that’s what your coaching costs. Now, you have to find a coach that is willing to serve you for that amount.

Bottom line, what are you wiling to invest? How much is your vision worth to you?

  • I worked as a licensed therapist for 8 years and I can attest the immense value of really good therapy.

There are elements of coaching that are therapeutic.

However, generally speaking, therapy looks back and deals with the past. Coaching looks forward and deals with the future.

If there is a story from your past and is resourceful to helping you achieve your vision, then by all means, let’s use it. But coaching is not the space where we sit in the past and investigate its deeper meaning and/or impact your current reality. Usually.

  • Executive coaching has come to embody a VERY WIDE VARIETY of professional services. I can’t speak for all of them, but I can speak for myself.

My coaching philosophy, and the philosophy of Novus Global, centers around THE VISION. If you are a human who has a vision you want to pursue, you could benefit from coaching.

If you are interested in discovering what you are capable of, you could use a coach.

If you are wanting to discover what’s keeping you from doing the thing you’ve always wanted, you could use a coach.

If you want to grow your business from $5 million a year, to $20 million a year, you could use a coach.

If you are wanting to increase your productivity, have more free time, and more fulfillment, you could hire a coach.
